Bethel Gambia was started in the year 2000 by two Missionaries (Rev. Patrick S. Taylor and his wife Jamsetta) sent from the Sierra Leone District. Rev. Taylor went to the nation of Banjul with a passion and vision to make a difference in that muslim dominated nation. His commitment to the vision and dynamism made it possible for him with the help of the Holy Spirit to breakthrough the strongholds of Islam and was able to pioneer and establish a vibrant church that is not only reaching the foreigners, but the Gambians as well. Rev. Taylor and his wife laboured relentlessly with a minimum support from outside and made tremendous sacrifices in the formative stage of the work. Their demonstration of a true missionary spirit yielded for them much fruit and success and today the work has grown so rapidly within a period of four years. Within this period, they have been able to acquire a one acre land on the outskirt of the Capital City of Banjul for further development. They have purchased a van to help them in Rural evangelism and Church Planting and they are currently pursuing a land to buy within the City of Banjul for the already growing Church. This is a Mission field worth supporting. With the assistance of the Bishop and General Overseer, Dr. Darlingston G. Johnson, that Mission station is currently supported on a regular basis through the Missions Desk of the Bethel World Outreach Ministries International in Silver Spring.
